Business Assistant

We are looking for Business Assistants who are excited about being part of a great team! We have an extensive training program for all new staff and are looking for a dedicated, driven, and outgoing professional who is ready to take on a new challenge.

We currently have both full and part-time openings in:
Ann Arbor | Brighton | Livonia | West Bloomfield

As a Business Assistant you will be responsible for:

  • Greeting, checking in and registering patients
  • Checking out patients and processing payments
  • Educating patients on insurance coverages, payments, and scheduling
  • Conducting insurance verifications
  • Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments, including cancellations, confirmations, emergency patients, and non-routine appointments to insure a consistently filled schedule
  • Answering phones for office and fielding calls as necessary
  • Maintain all required spreadsheets, and tracking logs
  • Preparing and processing daily charts, treatment reports and filing
  • Assisting in maintaining office equipment and appearance as necessary
  • Safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Completing Phase Training with a score of at least 90% within a required period of time
  • Following the “FISH” philosophy and conducting oneself in the highest of customer service skills

Key Qualifications

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have proven work experience
  • Display a minimum of six months of computer experience working with email, images and a Window based system.
  • Have knowledge of dental terminology, insurance, and procedures
  • Have knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
  • Display knowledge regarding information collection, management, and organization
  • Communicate well, relate to the public, and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Display a high level of ethical conduct
  • Have a team orientated outlook
  • Display a high level of flexibility
  • Have a strong work ethic
  • Display a positive attitude and be dependable
  • Travel amongst assigned offices
